1. SCOPE

1.1  This Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for spray-applied rigid polyurethane cellular plastics, medium density, used as a thermal insulation for both building and non-building applications, whether applied on a building site or in a prefabrication (manufacturing) facility. The material is also known as foamed in-situ insulation .

1.2  The spray-applied rigid polyurethane cellular plastic thermal insulation shall not be used when the continuous service temperature of the substrate is outside the range of -60 to +80 ° C.

1.3  The test methods used to determine the material properties provide a means of comparing different cellular plastic thermal insulations. They are intended for use in specifications, product evaluations and quality control. They are not intended to predict end-use product performance.

1.4  Spray-applied rigid polyurethane cellular plastic thermal insulation-medium density must be applied (installed) in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and CAN/ULC-S705.2, Thermal Insulation - Spray Applied Rigid Polyurethane Foam, Medium Density, Application - Specification by a licensed contractor using a licensed installer for the actual application. Applications, requirements for applications and limitations of use are included in CAN/ULC-S705.2.

1.5  The testing and evaluation of a product against this Standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use.
