Presentation to Building Officials in Ontario

As part of our effort to educate Building Officials and industry professionals about spray polyurethane foam (SPF) and our industry, CUFCA's Executive Director Andrew Cole will give a presentation at the Ontario Building Officials Association (OBOA) Annual Meeting and Training Sessions (AMTS).

The CUFCA presentation will review the use of all common types of spray foam materials in construction and uses in buildings across Canada as an insulation, air barrier and vapour barrier material. A review of building code requirements and ULC standards for materials and installation will be presented, an explanation of the different types of foams used in construction (closed cell/open cell), mandatory on-site quality control and what to look for as a building official, along with the field quality control program used by the Canadian Urethane Foam Contractors Association.
Past and future research projects will be reviewed and specific application questions addressed in regards to residential and commercial building applications. The presentation will include a Q&A session to answer specific questions or installation techniques in the specific region.
